    Fuel tank fittings and sealant??

    Hi can anyone recommend a good sealant that is petrol friendly for my NPT fuel tank fittings??

    Is thread tape or liquid better??

    Ideally don't use NPT...

    But PTFE tape or paste should be fine. There are probably some loctite type liquids that might be suitable too.

    If using tape, wrap in in to ensure none of it will find its way into the plumbing itself, in case it might dislodge some and block something it shouldnt.

    Cheers can I ask why I shouldn't use NPT fittings all the American gas tanks are NPT??

    Loctite 542 on the threads will work. Recomended by Webcon when I asked them about sealing threaded supply pipes in my throttle body. Fuel sprayed every where first off, just a dab on the threads and no leaks, brilliant

    Taper threads are just crap...and yea, the Americans use them for a lot of stuff. Seems a bit pointless having an interference fit thread setup...that doesnt actually seal in the first place for most applications without additional measures.

    Obviously you don't have a lot of choice when parts come with them though.
