changed the old gearbox in my car for a different type and now the handbrake cables no good,

May help if you say what axle and if discs or drum.

Dukesville sell a Chinese version of the lokar ones, can only presume they were Chinese as the inner lining pulled out of the outer.

I've got a feeling that the axle is a Salsbury variant of the one in an MGB, in which case it'd be an eye in the end of a pressed steel lever..........would an MGB cable work?

I cut my avolvo ones doesn’t and made new crimps for the end by drilling through a stainless bolt then crimping them with a battery cable hydraulic crimper.
