Iím no auto electrician and wiring is one of those jobs I dread doing, so Iím after a numpty proof drawing or instructions please.
Basically I need to put relays on my headlamps to stop the switch cutting out. I have some 5 pin relays so if you can bare that in mind it would be good.
Also here is a pic of the wiring destructions for those of you who read trickery http://imagehosting.rodsnsods.co.uk/...59dc9e93d9.jpg
Please make this as simple as possible:tup:
To start with what are the spade terminal numbers do you have on your relays.
Thanks for the replies chaps. Do I just ignore the terminal marked 87a?
87a is a switch from 87 so yes ignore it
87a can be used for dipped beam and 87 for main beam if powered from the dip switch
All done. I used the live feed to the light switch and 2 relays. All seems to work ok so hopefully my lights won’t cut out now the nights are drawing in:tup:
Well done. Relays are simple things, just think of them as 2 switches. You operate the little switch in the relay (86-87) using your original light switch with low power, this switches the big switch in the relay (30-87) to send power to the lights.
