Help advice on fitting a wider beam axle.Rear axle

I would like advice on fitting a front beam axle thats 6inch wider than the original one.So were the springs sit on the beam they will be 3inc more over on the outside,on each side of my van.So the spings will not of course line up with the chassis.I dont want to have a narrower axle.So is it ok to make some mountings that fit on the outside of the chassis instead of the original ones bolting though the chassis.Second question how do i line up a new , different rear axle to the original gearbox. How do i know if the axle is at the correct angle.I do hope you know what i am talking about. Thanks

Are the leafs attached through shackles in the chassis rails? If space allows, I cant see why you cant adapt it to accept outboard spring hangars, providing they are fixed properly and safely. Why cant you measure the angle the propshaft is at now, then set up the new rear axle to the same angle?

Hi good idea about the axle never thought about that. The original spring hangers just bolt straight through the chassis.
