Looks like a GM 8.5" 10 Bolt Axle.

Scrub that, it actually looked more like a Ford 7.5" but found this on the HAMB and it has a photo of a very similar axle:

Found this info on how to tell the difference between an 8.7" and 8.8" Ring Gear:

    "WER" --- 8.7" R/G
    Gasket: Victor # P18561 10 holes, 11-5/8" x 11"

    "WDR / WFL" --- 8.8" ring gear 1985 F150
    Gasket: Victor # P27608TC 10 holes 10-9/16" x 11"

Centre of top bolt to centre of bottom bolt on a 7.5 is approx 9"
Centre of top bolt to centre of bottom bolt on a 8.8 is approx 10"
Now looking at the measurements of the gaskets above would say an 8.7 would also be approx 10"
