How do I stop my wipers?

Okay, the wiper switch was not working so I managed to get an original motorcraft switch, albeit 2 speed and my motor is a single speed. So wired it up and with the ignition on I tried the wipers. All okay, when I switched the wipers off they stoped in the correct park position. Great.

Went out in the truck today and used the wipers, but when I turned them off, the wipers just kept going. Stopping the truck and turning the ignition off stopped them but not parked. But as soon as I turned the ignition back on the wipers started up again, even though the wiper switch was off!! WTF! Any ideas what is going on? Not sure if the vehicle makes any odds to an answer here, but 1963 F100.

There's a continuos live to the motor that powere up the park.Looks like that is taking control, thus overriding the on/off switch ,it may be grease smeared over the park point allowing continuous supply.

Wiring here for Luca switch and motor but may give you an idea.

Thanks Kapri. Whoever fitted the first switch had cut the terminal block off and just crimped spades on the wires, and the Ford manual gives me no clue as to what wire goes to what terminal on the switch. Now I'm not sure from what you've said I wired the switch up right. What I did was using a meter I found which terminal on the switch had no continuity with any other term when the switch was off, and connected my live wire from the ignition switch to that. That left the wire to the wiper motor and the park wire which I just connected to 2 out of the 3 terminals left. Pouring down now so don't really want to try tonight, but I'm now wondering if the park wire is on the right terminal. The link you provided has given me the info at least that the park and 1st speed terminals must be linked when the switch is in off position. I'll have a look in the morning.
