    LED Rear Lights

    Hi,
Just finishing the lastn bits on my pop,I bought some of the led repalcement bulbs for my teardrops when i was in the states.Has anyone used them? are they any good or are the complete replacement led teardrop lights better? can you run led's as as stop/tail/indicators?
    Many Thanks

Sorry to interupt the thread , its a similar question though.
I recentley fitted some LED light units to the back of a truck (24v) , they work fine , apart from the "green arrows" dont flash on the dash. Do I need to fit some kind of resistor?

    Yes you will.
The LEds have very low wattage, and the flasher unit probably won't recognize them.
Resistors are available, but I understand at a silly price.
You could try just parralleling a bulb across the LEDs, to give the flasher some load, and test to see if the theory works. Then think about resistors, or just leave the bulb in place in the boot, tucked up somewhere.

Hiya mate just done this with my pop, I put 21 watt bulbs on the back and LED'S on the front, you can get a flasher can with a built in resistor that runs 21 watt for the back and a low wattage to compensate for the LED'S this cost me £11.00. Another way is to put a resistor on the back of each LED. I tried Maplins but they wanted the wattage of the LED which I didn't have, but Heine Gericke the bike shop sell two types of resistors for bikes 10 watt and 21 watt for about £3.00 each which would probably do the same but these are 12 volt. hope this helps.
