    I'm going to say that's because they have a better transformer and windings, but if anything electric that's not meant to be hardwired is sold in the Uk without a 3 pin plug it needs at least a 16a socket.

    you could try blowing the welder out with a air line , I've had my tig 12 years and could not believe how much crap i blow out with the air line - did not take the cover off just blew it through where the fan goes.

    also a word of warning NEVER USE A 6MM BOLT IN A PLUG--- the end off 6.5 mm drill bit works much better!!

    gaffer tape is also good for holding the spark arrestors open on propane bottles when you are cutting up scrap in a field!!!!!
    at least dick turpin had the decency to wear a mask!
