More fuel pump - what to use

    Hey guys,

Any ideas as to which fuel pump will be best suited to a 302ci sbf in standard tune with a 600 cfm holley carb?

Its goin in the escort gasser when I can finally get the bugger out the garage an in the workshop!! And is there an advantage to using say the facet interupter over the solid state?

    Cheers, Matt

The stock mechanical is all you need for a mild 302 with a 600 cfm Holley.
    There's no replacement for displacement.

I've used both types of Facet in that sort of situation with no problems. The little solid state is surprisingly good...I had one feeding 6 Webers and it was fine when driven hard.

I think there's also an advantage to using an electric pump over a mechanical one in a car that's not driven every day.

I've just replaced the mechanical one on my trike with an electric pump because I was placing unnecessary strain on the battery and starter motor using them to pump fuel into the carb after it had drained back or evaporated. Now I just wait for the pump to stop ticking and it fires right up.

You can also, using a thin funnel, pour a little fuel down the vent tube of the bowl to prime it after its been sitting a while saving cranking it
