Mustang II IFS on a Pop ?

Has anyone run this setup ?

Mustang II IFS on a sit up & beg Pop.

Just wondering really as i've got a setup in the garage with 1" shortened A arms, shocks, crossmember and RHD steering rack.

I know a stock width one would be too wide but interested in seeing if anyone else has made one fit before.

    Cheers,
    Meep Meep.

I would go for it. X member would need narrowed obviously which would change the SAL but that goes with any narrowed front end. Space for the motor may become tight but again, it's a Pop and that's the issue you have to deal with.
As long as the relationship between the upper and lower inner pivots are maintained(relative to each other after narrowing too) it should all work adequately.

Bearing in mind my front end is 50" wide outside of tyres...

Probably a bit too wide at the mo then. Will have to look out my measurements from when it was built up.

It was bought for the beetle I was doing so it's already a fair bit narrower than stock to fit under the beetle front end.
Seems a shame to have it sat in a box.

Those wheels would be no good anyway as they're zero offset.

Just cut the middle of the crossmember out to what you need width wise, that's all we did with the Herald one in mine...

I'll see how wide it all hooks up to as the rack is a brand new one sized to fit. If it's workable then I'll use that lot. If not then I might narrow the rack or just keep that stuff for the bug project and fab it up from other stuff (got some cortina stuff here as well)

Only thing i'm missing is Mustang spindles & brakes as I flogged them

Could probably end up using the whole chassis & just stick some oversized wings on. Don't think it'd need much taking out the wheelbase.
