    I think this has happened before that's why he's bought and done the other stuff,only happened when he fitted the ram .

    The cam is the same 1 but this is what i thought something was a miss that's why i said to check when top dead and compare to another cyl,what is a 4-7 swop .

    Just googled it you could be onto something but would not cyl 7 have a problem.

    answer for kapri yes i thought it might be the unilite module breaking down so purchased a pertronix kit instead.
    answer to eastern rider not 2 sure what a 4-7 swop cam is. the 1 i have is an edelbrock performer rpm. the injectors are batched in fours so if i had a problem with wiring on 1 the other 3 would also be playing up but all 7 are firing just the annoying no4 that isnt.
    am gonna give the oil a try possibly fri when i finish work.
    if not the trusty old performer manifold will be going back on.

    but keep the ideas coming.

    Have you checked there is a spark on plug outside of engine?
    Try fitting an led on the injector to that plug, it should be flashing with the injector pulses. If it's on solid then the injector is wide open flooding that cylinder.

    we have tried a different lead & plug touching the rockerbox & it is firing i am ordering a noid light kit tonight so i can check injector pulses. & i will have a word with si about making a link light from the plug to injector as he is the wizard with electrics.

    Check the injector wiring on that injector, they usually work by grounding to open the injector (not by power) so check to see if the wiring is shorting to ground as this will keep the injector wide open.
    If loom is long enough try to put a different loom plug on that injector see if that cylinder fires then.
    If injectors are easily removable from the manifold, try running engine (carefully!!!) with that injector in a glass jar and watch the spray pattern & pulses, should be easy to spot if injector is wide open constantly.

    Hi Chris ,
    when i spoke to Si i suggested he changed to batch fire and then it would be easier to test wiring from ECU ,did he try that? also did he check the resistors that he put inline to correct injector impedence? DONT GIVE UP !!! you've got all winter now to sort it.
    I'i sort out that holley ECU for you and the you and Si can start again
    never enough days in a hour!!!
