    and its weeing me off,
the noise is a knock that goes faster when i go faster been through the back end changed the rear wheel bearings both sides, both sets, replaced diff oil with correct amount,no lose bolts around the calipers, there is one thing ive noticed with a little bit of play and thats a inner uj would i get a knocking noise from this, put it on axle stands spun the back end but no noise.ive even tried it in gear running to get to a decent speed on axle sdands but no noise...could it be a dodgy bearing, ive done about 50 miles on the new bearings and help please thanks

It's easy enough to do but the trouble is getting the preload shims as Jag dealers only sell them in packs of 10 of one size and they are about £5 each . I manange to work out what I needed and got hold of a local Jag reapir specialist and bought 3 different sizes at £5 a piece. I ended up linishing one down to the required size.

I'll have a look in a minute to see if thereis anything on the 'net about how to overhaul them .

EDIT , here ya go, first one I found

Just slop in the bearing and it sliding up and down the shaft ( probably). I did a set about 8 months ago that had been in use for about 6 months and they were fine.

Chances of it 'just ' going back together are slim, all about production tolerances. If they weren't needed they wouldn't make them would they ?
