    QuestionOil pressure gauge fittings !?

Ok, so doing away with the horrible little compression tube fittings on my SBC - bugger popped off.

I got this fab pipe from the Bay and it's fine and dandy.
It comes with the (silver) 1/8 pipe fitting!? For the block. I can see it's tapered no worries.

At the other end there's a mismatch going on!?

I need a connector between gauge and pipe but screwed if I know what to ask for?

    Any one know?

    Many thanks in advance
    Jimbob

It's difficult to see from the photo what size it is on the gauge, can you measure it?

Does Guy get on here anymore?

    Here's a close up...

The common 1/8" bspp on the new black pipe won't fit the smaller fitting on back of gauge. The lord only knows what that size is and if there's a connector to mate the two.

it has an inverted flair seat. If 1/8 bsp is too small with a thread OD of 0.383in or 9.72mm, then it may simple be a M10 fine or 3/8UNF straight fitting and the seal is via the inverted flare, the olive and a corresponding tube nut.

Not very often due to the lack of PC at home, and this place is kinda horrible on a phone...

Chuck it in the post to me at work, and I'll sort it out for you, have you still got the address???

    Thumbs up

    Hi Guy,

thanks for your very kind offer

I got a smaller tacho which is black so decided to do away with the white faced Chineseium ****e dials and fell in love with old School Smith's. Forgot how cool their style is

The oil gauge bolted straight up. Job done.

If the adapter came with the gauge it might be 1/8" BSPP, but the Chevy will be NPT - there is a difference in pitch between the two standards.
    Screw EU
