    pcd adaptor for moggy?

hey everyone, just bought a 1965 morris minor which is stock at the mo, first mod is lowering then decent alloys, I plan on using a pcd adaptor so i can fit modern wheels but don't know what modern fitment to go for (minor to ford, minor to VW etc) looking for small wide rims if anyone knows any manufacturers with a decent selection, and what the original ofset is for a minor so i can work out the new ofset using the pcd adaptor width. any advice would be much appreciated!

i can do these for you in any 4 stud pattern you want, ford is the obvious choice as easy to get wheels for. to make them safe they will need to be minimum 1" (25mm) thick. all the adaptors i do are custom made to your requirements so they locate on the centre boss of the axle and the wheel locates on a boss on the adaptor, some rely on the sruds for location but i personaly dont think this is good practice. as your in ireland it might be cheaper to get a local engineering firm to make them, i can supply drawings for them to use (you will need to add your dimensions for wheel bore and axle boss).

any more info you need dont hesitate to ask.

If I were you, I'd bear in mind the fact that the Minor wheel doeesn't centre locate, and have a long think about the puny wheel studs. Just sayin'...

i didnt know that, and without that the studs will be weak. maybe better to redrill the hubs/ half shafts and use 1/2" studs

I *think* that the pre S11 Minors had bolts, not studs

AFAIK all Minors are 4" PCD. would have thought 4 stud Jap stuff would be metric. Anyway, pre '51 minors had a different rear axle (so rear hubs too) as against the later cars. The side valve cars also came with an unfeasably low final drive ratio.

Longer studs are available for Minors, they're 3/8" UNF, the same as classic minis. The Cooper S version had longer studs which will interchange.

4" pcd is one of the most common bolt patterns on modern 4 stud cars. lots of aftermarket wheels are dual pattern 4" & 4 1/4" for vauxhall and ford. go to halfrauds, ebay etc and see whats available before you load the minor studs up with adapters. i agree with the replies above, though i'd drill the hubs to suit common metric studs (m12) to suit the nuts available for modern wheels.
