PCV valve & oil fill cap??

Hi folks just installed my new valve covers today I have my PCV valve hooked up to the front big port on my Edelbrock 1406 carb, my oil filler cap is just a push in one on the other side

Will the oil filler cap need to be vented so it sucks in air to circulate through??

I've ordered a matching breather same as my PCV to replace the oil filler I have,

YouTube videos say it doesn't and does need to be vented??

    Regards Stuart

If that really is a PCV (I haven't seen one like that before) then yes, you should allow FILTERED air into the diagonally opposite rocker cover opening. If you've ever seen the amount of white poop that accumulates in the rocker covers without a PCV you would not want to run an engine without one.
    Cheers, Martin
Maybe I'm just sick in the head.

Yes needs to be vented, ideally you should have a filler cap with a spigot with another rubber pipe connected to your air cleaner.

If the cap in the top picture has a PCV valve in it you'll need a breather on the other side where you have the blank cap. Those are the same covers as I fitted to my SBC last month, I'm not looking forward to the next oil change with those baffles in placeIMG_7289.JPGIMG_7290.JPGIMG_7291.JPG

They look good, are you buying direct from Summit? You can get most stuff in the UK from places like Customville in Dagenham

I've actually ordered these for the PCV side as I wasn't happy with the fitment of the baffle on one of the valve covers, don't want anything rattling loose
