    Powerglide input shaft

Ok guys & gals I need help again.
While moving my Glide box I grabbed the central shaft & pulled (Oooer missus) problem is it came out of the box by a few inches,

I pushed it back in but what I need to know is should it come out like that or is it similar to a drive shaft with a snap ring.
Everything still seemed to be as before but is there a possibility I've cream crackered something.
I do plan to have box checked over before I use it but would just like to be prepared.
    Cheers Chuck

Thanks Andy that was quick, bit of a relief. I know nothing about these black magic boxes just know they've got lots of whirry bits in em.
The pic was lifted off a Google images search & looked similar to what I thought mine looked like from memory & was easier than me trying to explain.
As a matter of interest what's the piccy of then.

    Cheers Chucks
