I you just want it to look original you could modify the pump so that it does not work off of the engine, take the valves out and feed the fuel through it with an electric pump hidden away

If I knew it would fit the 204E engine (1703 cc 4 cylinder) I would use one from the MK3 Zephyr if I could find one here in US. I know I could fit an electric pump but since I have restored the Beardmore I want to keep it original if possible.

That seems to be a good idea although read this. My little original upright Ford Prefect had the vapours sometimes, not when driving but after a short stop with engine hot. The problem was the fuel pump heating the fuel inside and vapour locking. Could this still happen with a 'dummy' pump I wonder? I think not but I wouldn't risk it. I fitted a little Facet pump low down under the front floor and its magic. Rattles away when first turned on and keeps rattling but cannot hear it over the engine noise. I carried a small lever spray bottle with cold water to spray the pump - took about a minute to get going but who wants that when stopped at traffic lights or beside a busy road, embarrassing and dangerous as you now know.
Greatest discombobulations to all my readers.

And I am still wondering how it can run when cold, but cuts out when hot, when the pump does not push fuel to the carb.
    As per original post.
    ????????
Its either you lay down and die or you get on with your shit till you do!!!!! No Other Way Around It. One or the other. Don't worry about being forgotten, you will. Rather worry about in how long it will take for you to be forgotten, bro.
