    prop phasing and vibration

i still have a vibration from 48mph upwards and gets worse the faster i go

i have jacked up the back of the truck and removed the wheels then sat it on axle stands

    the vibration is still there

this is speed related and not engine related because at the same engine speed in 1st and 2nd the vibration is not there

i did have a huge vibration issue 4-5 months ago but this was a knackered u/j

i have purchased a digital angle gauge and these are my findings

i don't really understand angles and phasing even after reading about it

so can some clever person tell me whats wrong and what i need to alter to fix it
    thanks

Is the shaft good ? ie balanced etc correctly ?

Installed correctly ? not binding up or anything ? ie slip joints wherever they are needed ?

what I'm reading is should be a 1 degree downward angle on the gearbox but up to 3 degrees downward angle
and the same on the pinion shaft ?

so it should be ok where it is then ?

Wrong.....rear of box should be pointing down by anywhere between 1-3 degrees (to get carb level it will be nearer 3), rear axle flange should be pointing up by the same amount as the box is pointing down...i.e: equal, but opposing angles.

If you habe both pointing down just now then the prop may "whip" like a skipping rope and do in the u/j pretty quickly.
