Jack I've run 13 on most of my cars. Are you sure it's not just finding a level? On the 34 I have quite a deep header tank and if I fill up it pumps out on the first run until it finds the level it's happy with then never loses a drop.

Mr cars, you are probably right it had crossed my mind but you know what is like.after it had done this a while back i drained the coolant to see how much was in there,to my joy ther was litres and litres of the stuff,it does toss it out if i top it up,and then appears to be fine and i was happy with that.the reason i asked really is because i had almost completed a 140 round trip before i had what looked like a sauna at the front of my car, gotta learn to leave things as they are.

    cheers Jack

I would say fill up again and then let it happen. At this point check the level once it has cooled but don't top up. From then on keep an eye on it and see what happens.
On a production car it's easy to say that the level should be at such and such below the top. On our cars we mix and match parts and so it's not always that simple. Does it run hot?
