    Rear end identification

Hi - just hoping someone here may have some clues for me to help identify the rear end on our motor, it was listed as being a chevy12 bolt which I'm pretty certain it is - however I was trying to workout if it was a car or truck one and it seems that you can tell by the shape of the diff rear case. But on ours it doesn't seem to match either. I have searched and found that there should be some identification marks on the axle tubes, but i've wirebrushed the crap off all round and nothing there. The only numbers etc that I can find are casting nos on the diff itself and they appear to be 406208 then at the base CFD and then a seperate 6.
I've trawled loads of stuff and the closest I can get I think is this may be from a chevelle. Anyone any other idaes how I might be able to identify it? (I know it's a longshot)
    Cheers all
