No plans for it, will likely sell it one day. Although it is tempting to hot rod it. Iv got two singer 9 sports tourers, a 36 and a 32, the erskine, and a replica bently blower but fitted with a jaguar V12. Only the one singer is complete and could be used with little effort, the rest are either in bits or mid re-build. Best one we/i had, i sold last year, it was a 1921 Frazer nash single seat racing car with a 1500 anzani engine with a supercharger. Chain driven gearbox, it was something else.

Also got a great collection of classic british bikes, including a few cafe racers.

You've certainly got your hands full there matey, I can just about cope with the Stude and the Vette.

4th has been slipping for a while in the Stude. It's been one of those 'i'll get round to it' jobs. Anyhow I took a Tinder date down to Rye on Thursday in the Stude. She loved it. But half way there 3rd started slipping too....which generally means one thing (worn 3-4 clutches). When I rebuilt the box I only got half way into the box before I decided it was in such good shape that i'll chance the back half is good too. Evidently not...

I ended up having to gun it in 2nd so I could then coast in 4th. Very entertaining for the public as the noise from the exhaust on a 5500rpm deceleration sounds like a race car. We made it to the hotel and the AA guy picked us up in the morning.
I've started getting the box out and am waiting for a friend to come round and tell me where to cut the crossmember (the plan is to make it removable).

I have a new 2400 stall converter ready to go in, we just need to order the shifter, governor springs/weights and strip the box to assess the situation.

A minor setback in the grand scheme of things. I hope to have her back on the road in 2 weeks.

    Hi Jay, getting there...
The welder has modded the crossmember to make the thing removable

The 'box is apart, i've ordered a full rebuild kit as i'll replace all the clutches and steels.

    Burnt steels -

I'll also replace the sun shell -

    And the reaction shaft -

    Just waiting for parts now...

Edit, where i've written 'reaction shaft' I me meant stator support shaft....I've ordered a new one of those with new bushings.

I got stuck into the 'box yesterday.

Stripped the input drum, replaced everything, steels, frictions and piston seals, the seals were very loose compared to the new ones, this would not maintain proper pressure on the clutches.

I made a stand by using a hole saw to cut though an old stool.

    3-4 pistons in

    Sprag in

    Reverse input clutch assembly rebuilt

    Soaking the new clutches

    Input and reverse drum assembled

Now going to attack the back of the 'box and replace the low reverse frictions.

    I'm actually enjoying this

Stripped the back of the box, all in good nick. Replaced the low reverse piston seals and clutches and started reassembling it.

Just waiting for the new stator support to arrive, i've ordered size 27 torx impact bits to remove the old stator,

They all 8.8's, some are 28 spline, others 31 spline, some disc, some drum, various Ratios and not all LSD so you have to read the number on the diff and work out what you have, post '97 are discs.

Hence why I ended up with a disc brake, 31 spline, 3.73 LSD, takes a bit of time to find...
