Two coats of Jenolite, two coats of Hammerite primer and two coats of Hammerite silver and she's looking good.

Just waiting for the powder coated backing plates and calliper brackets to arrive then we can fill the diff with oil, put the c clips back on and make up the brake lines

Pics tomorrow Photobucket is playing up.....

Just ordering a rebuild kit for the callipers from Rock Auto, also ordered new hoses and trying to work out the parking brake arrangement.

New parking brake shoes and small parts kit has turned up.

Any got any recommendations/links to oil for the LSD 8.8?

I hear some oils have the additive in them, some guys add additive as well and some buy oil and additive.

    Cheers

Just found some GM friction modifier in the garage from when I renewed the vette diff oil if that's of any use to me?

I received the powder coated calliper brackets and backing plates from Russ today and set about fitting them with the new handbrake shoes and small parts kit.

Also got the calipers painted and ordered the new seals and flex hoses from Rock Auto

Picking up the oil tomorrow. We can then get the shafts back in, c clips put on and rotors put back on. Nearly there.

Got the c clips in, the pin also. Time for a final measure..

    56 1/2", sweet.

We've ordered some 1" adaptors which were only 30 quid on Ebay. This gives us time to sort out some new wheels.

For oil i just get it from the local car factors.its for lsd axles.

Why are you buying spacers for the axle.did you not narrow it to the correct width or you going with diffetent offset wheels
    Rod/custom/drag build profiles:
    Mini | Pop | Porker | Trike | Morris 8

    | 48 chevy coupe | ford f100 | tube chassis,d pop

Thanks yeah I ordered 75W 140 LS Castrol from Ebay as my local factors didn't sell any 75-140...

The car currently has 7 x 17 Fluted Hawk Centrelines which have quite a shallow dish due to the 8" being too wide for the Stude. The plan with this new axle is to fit some nice dish wheels, 9", 9.5" s. 18" But to get her on the road again I found some cheap adaptors so we can reuse the old wheels for now as the new ones will be ££

Got the new hoses today, also got the calliper rebuild kit, nuts for adaptors and the oil.

    Ordering the brake line tonight.

Jeez there's a LOT to getting an axle on the road...

Also spoke to Centerline who can make a pair of 18" x 9 1/2" Fluted Hawk's, 900 bucks...
    Center Line Wheels

We'll eventually get 18"s for the front too and sell the 17's on the car.

The Stude is in the garage for its axle swap. Also removing the rear wings for repairs.
