    Rebody ABS conundrum

    Hi Folks,
I've just been to look at a 2000 LT1 taxi to use as a donor. I've agreed on a price and plan to collect it next week...However
I came across a video of them being built on youtube and realised from that video that this chassis has ABS.
My question is If I completely removed it from the build project, sensors, wiring, control box, warning light etc would it be an issue when it comes to having it Inspected / MOT'd when it's built. Or.......would they know it's missing or even look for it.
    Thanks in advance,
    Pete.

My 1997 BMW bike has had its entire ABS removed, because fixing it costs more than the bike is worth.

I told my insurance company and they have noted ‘brake system modified’ on their system. Been MOTd twice since and not a word was said.
Never make the mistake of thinking that the rut you're in is really a groove.

I don't see an issue myself - if it ever had to go through IVA then it would need to be removed as no IVA cars are allowed ABS. As such I can't see an issue with it when rebodied.

For MOT/ taxation purposes the vehicle will still remain governed by the date of chassis registration NOT appearance or date of body . As long as the remaining brake system meets the requirements for that age of vehicle you'll be good.

    Hi Guys.
Apologies, didn't see your replies till just now.....Appreciated.
I got the taxi home last Thursday. As of today, it's stripped to the bare chassis, engine and box are coming out tomorrow then I'll attack it with the power washer and see what we've got.
    Cheers.
    PS, no abs after all.
