    removing old stickers/glue from paint work

    ive peeled of the checker squares off the bulk head on my T and its left it covered in small sticky squares where the glue has been left. whats the best stuff to remove the glue? ive tried some thinners but its lifting the paint aswell! also tried some nail varnish remover (not mine) with no luck any ideas was hoping NOT to have to repaint the firewall if it can be help'd!

    got the stickers off no trouble, parked the car in the sun and they came of easy! but left a lot of the glue behind

    ill nip up to halfords andy and see if i can get some

    You could try Lighter Fluid.

    Thats always worked when I needed to remove stickers from Vinyl LP sleeves, and it did not damage the sleeve!!
    The clue is in the name

    What if you want some paint left afterwards?

    I'd go with lighter fluid. Years in graphic design where you needed to clear up cow gum residue, there, I've shown my age, means I've used lighter fluid to clear adhesive residue ever since. Of course, the local newsagents can't understand why i buy lighter fuel but no fags.

    on the other hand,
    Many times I have removed the glue from stickers with panelwipe, and put
    them inside the windows like a transfer with a very weak PVA/water soloution,
