    Roll cages ect

Right as I'm going to be running s big block Chevy 😀 time to think about a proper cage

So at what point time / speed wise is it required It's a road car. Box section chassis glass body Mostly Rwyb. But who knows

Is 1 5/8 CDS 3 mm still the min R the foot plates 6x6 inches I'm told I can go straight to the 3x1 1/2 box section

I'm thinking 6 point To start poss door bars with the option to add tube later if she s quick enuff

    ?????

You need the MSA handbook, it gives you all the specs needed for different ET's
    MSA membership is needed.

MSA and US based cage rules can be very different.

Speak to a cage fabricator familiar with the type of racing you'll be taking part in.

If it's just RWYB type stuff as opposed to competing dont really think such rules are heavily enforced anyway ?

    What's it going in ?
There's a bit involved and easier to do it once tbh ,different size tubes are used at diffent areas , main section etc is still 42mm I believe , or it was for the last one we did , door bars as standard ( non removable) , I also put floor bars in as extras ..
Most 6 points can be built to 10.50 spec fairly easily , msa is really what your looking at here ..
Rwyb doesn't need a cage ( unless it's a convertible ) as far as I'm aware , but you never know who's in the lane next to you ....

don't even think about adding tubes later, it will normally be a pain to do, differcult to weld in etc. Build it over spec. its a 'glass car which have virtually no protection in a roll over or even a hard side impact, my advice would be to do it once, well!

If you build to MSA blue book it won't be correct for drag racing entry. Drag racing uses the american rule book. The tube sizes and thicknesses are different.
