    rover to scimitar adapter plate

well the rod has been off the road for a few months as the essex 3.0 blew up(snapped crank) i finally got some money and i am looking to fit a 3.5 or 3.9 rover in it. i would like to keep the scimitar 4 speed in it as the gearing is just right. if anyone knows if this is possible where can i get parts from ie; adapter plate ect ect . thanks for any help.

ISTR that RV8 engines were fitted to Ford gearboxes using RV8 BW35 bellhousings and a spacer plate.

Magnum Engineering used to make bits to fit RV8s in to capris (and possibly Sierras). No idea if they're still about, or what parts they offer any more but they might be able to help.

easy enough to make an adapter plate if you have both engines and access to a lathe

from memory you need the bell housing from a bourg warner 35 and a 0.8" thick spacer to the gearbox, I might have drawings for it as done this a few times in the past its not hard to do bit you must ensure it all lines up correctly or you will be forever changing input shaft bearings, I look at no more than 0.004" out of alignment.
