One thing I'd add is if you just want a cruiser with a v8 noise a stock rover will do. Just don't even think about serious tuning. Neil.
if you where going to tune a RV8 in the traditional way sure thats very true, but strap on a turbo & blow through the twin SU's on a good stock 3.5 and you have a very cheap powerfull package..........

yep, you'll have about the same power as a mild 302 and no scope for more without spending big bucks. sounds like you know what you want to do anyway so......
ps as above don't rev that stock rover v8 too high. neil.
need a job done on your project? i may be able to help.

What he said ^^^^^.....however, there is something about a V8 Rover that makes them lovely to use in the "CORRECT "VEHICLE
They are a bit "Swiss watch" like when they run and the (small) torque delivery is great.
They sort of "hiss" when they tick over instead of it trying to "shake its ****" out from between the frame rails
As WB says, fkn expensive to rebuild though because everything's always fkd due to old oil and the all ally construction not "getting on "unless changed regularly

I happen to have been on Real Steels web tonight and they have a set of 3.9+"20 pistons in bargain basement for £84!! not so dear after all...I wish
