    If you don't know the model or year of the SD1, the GM180 was used in the last models of them. I would not stake my life on it but I think the last 3 years of them.
    PS it is supposed to be a stronger box than the Borg Warner, this is probably true cos we never managed to break ours and we did give some fair abuse!

    Cheers for that I've managed to find the I d plate on the gearbox and it reads"strasbourg General Motors " on the upper part of the plate and "division France" on the upper right side ,then a large T and H in the middle then on the bottom of the plate there is a stamp that starts"cal" G 11 then another stamp to the right that reads "serial no" 2686712 let's hope this clears all confusion and confirms it is the gm 180 even though I could find nothing saying gm 180 over to you lads by the way I have this engine in a ford pop. My dream car for over 33 years

    There you go as you said yourself General motors hence "GM" 180.
