    SBC intake manifolds

    Hi chaps, i'm building a sbc and was given a Torker manifold , the engine is in a fairly light rod and will be for street use, the engine has some nice internals quite a high lift cam , running 10.1 etc etc

    Question,

    I read the the Torkers are not much good due to runner/plenum hight so what would be a good manifold in anyone's opinion? any help would be great cheers

    What cam is in the motor,, duration at 50 thou.. And what compression..victor jr works well in most middle ground sbc.. In my opinion the torker is not very good and is surpassed by most any single plane

    is the manifold a torker or a torker II,apparently the torker II is the worse of the two
    agree with zephyrc .I run a victor junior on my sbc, it`s very streetable
    livin' on beer 'n' jaffa cakes -one box per pint

    Cam,
    Duration @ .050" 254 inlet 262 exhaust
    valve lift, 520 inlet 531 exhaust
    Running duration, 286 deg inlet 296 deg exhaust
    lobe lift, 346 inlet 354 exhaust

    Chaz. Is that cam flat tappet or roller.. It's quite a lot of duration for a 10-1 motor,,, I would go either the victor jr or the super victor 2925.... What converter is behind it

    Solid lifter , bow laws steel push rods, rollers, 10 inch fairbanks converter

    for all round street use, its hard to beat the Z28 style manifold (very similar to the performer rpm).

    Flat tappet, and ive had the converter so long i lost the info on it.

    Victor jr would be my choice,, be a better combination if you could bump the compression up a little,,
