I need to replace a couple of bent/damaged wheel studs and thought I'd check with the brain trust before getting the grinder out:
The wheel studs are swaged onto the hub flange and replacement studs that are available seem to be the modern type with a splined shank that are pressed into the hub.
My plan for removal is:
carefully grind the stud off without touching the flange
centre punch and pilot drill the swage and remaining stud
drift the remaining stud back though the flange
Is this going to work?
I'm aware that I need to avoid damaging the flange and the holes.
Any advice much appreciated
