T5 conversion clutch doesnt engage help needed

I have done the hydraulic clutch conversion T5 trans on my 67 mustang using cnc master/slave
my problem im getting the clutch fork travel well over an inch but i cant engage the clutch, the bearing is touching the the fingers on the pressure plate before i press the clutch.
How much pre-load can i actually have the on the release bearing?

If you want the bearing to last, you should have clearance rather than pre-load.
Sounds like a leverage issue. Pics?

On the T5s the bearing is designed to be pre-loaded,after some more bleeding and setting the pre-load i now have gears.
There is plenty of leverage at the clutch fork without preload you would never get the T5 twork.
