    TIG filler rods, hard facing?

I need to build up a surface, it needs to be a hard surface, what filler rods would be suitable? I really dont want to spend £100 on a pack, thanks

Is it a bearing face or shaft you are welding or a wear plate?
If its super hard you need you could use stellite but it cannot easily be machined (normally ground) some welding supply companies split old packs of tig filler wire. Or a high carbon manganese wire such as Ardrox. You could also use super duplex if its machined afterwards.
Not really cheap whatever wire you use. I use GWS in widnes cheshire and they normally help out with small amounts of filler wire.
