    Toughened glass?

    Can it be cut?? or does anyone know if you can get a laminated screen for a Classic ford Consul/Capri??

    Nope, can't be cut ( well not easily ,it's possible but very hit and miss). Laminate screens are still available for Consul Capri but NOT Classic. I think it is 2+2 Elan is the same as Capri.

    I don't know what you are trying to do but a Capri screen is longer and a different shape in the corners to a Classic, it may be possible to cut a Capri to suit but don't know of anyone who has tried. I've seen chopped Classics but it has generally been done by laying theascreen back and can only go about 1 -1.5 inches

    The change to pick up on the registration document will normally trigger an inspection .This puts you in a grey area with regards to SVA ( cos it's Goods , BIVA is for cars currently) and this is actually a case that the MORE you do to the conversion will safeguard rather than just converting to a pick up. We've had this recently with a 100E pick up conversion inspected after logbook sent of to change bodystyle .

    I'm sure I've heard of toughened screens being 'cut' by masking and sandblasting. Probably a pretty long winded way of doing it though.
