i have not counted the splines but all the parts were orded from realsteel at the same time on the same order, i did'nt put grease on anything but did put a pint or so of trans fluid in the converter, the cente shaft in the front of the box turns by hand but does require effort, if you turn this shaft the tail shaft turns as you go through the gears it is obviusly changing gear if you put it in park you can turn the front shaft but not the tail shaft,

Yo, BA. I counted the splines on the torque converter and the shaft, and Murdoch got out your precision measuring stick, and checked as much as he could.

Sounds like the pump bush is tight on the converter mate. Did you check the pump half on the neck of the converter before you bolted the halves together?
I have a tool to use but you won't.
PS,should have used a trans builder..

It wouldn't matter if you welded the output shaft to the case. The input shaft turns independently, else when you started the car you'd be into next door's kitchen..

LOL,you need me to explain which bits are what??
It's the bit the neck goes into.Behind the Converter seal is the pump bush.It supports the neck of the converter.

i think my discription was very good, i was going to say the ogimipar next to the round thingymagigy were going to take the pump out again to double check it, i assume that the converter should turn quite freely with little effort
