    Turbos

Can anyone advise if it is possible to use a BIG turbo from an 8 litre diesel rig to make moderate boost on a big block V8..only concerned with spool up ability at this point not engine mods etc

You might actually find that turbo too small as its designed for a low revving diesel.

its plenty big and I thought the boost would occur earlier as boost in top end for a diesel might not be good..cant find amap for this turbo and even if I could probably wouldnt be able to fully understand it

diesel turbos on petrol engines can work but be wary of rpm and heat diffrences, generally the hassle with trying to make one work right is offset by the cost of the right application.

It really depends on the A/R ratio, usually stamped on the inlet housing, diesel turbo's tend to spool up quickly and for a shorter rev range.

so if a 5.7 truck turbo diesel engine revs to only 3000 rpm would it be logical to say you'd then be ok using 2 of these turbos on a 5.7 v8 that revs to 6000 rpm?
need a job done on your project? i may be able to help.
