    Re: Tyre Size

I do know of a blokey runing 7.50 17" on stock Model Y wheels wich are very narro like your Austin wheels, Looks dodgy to most (not me though I think they look the apes grapes) but he does spam it about loads and they've stayed on the rim no problems.
750x16 looks loverly on a '32 just right, with 600x16 front, or 700x16 back 560x16 front (in my opinion)
If you are worried about the tire being to wide for the rim you could go measure a Land rover steel and look into useing that rim on a Austin centre ( Landy rims come in at least 2 widths with the swb being a bit (1"ish) skinnyer than lwb wheels, The lwb version I think would look cool cus ita got quite a deep looking rim kinda like a Lotus Cortina wheel compared to a stock Cortina steel.

    Hi martin

Thanks very much I have got the front rims hillman Minx think they are about 4 1/2 and firestone whitewall 5.50s problem is thinking about it, I need to go as wide or wider on the back as for a start it's illegal to run narrower on rear so what I need is something with the same back spacing as the austins, as the minx are too deep, so any ideas Uk ford four stud 15 or 16

    Re: Tyre Size

Have a sniff around Citreons and Peugeots Lots had steels standard and some of the citreons have plain steels (no cutouts or holes) and Ford stud pattern.
