    V8 lifter-bore sleeves?

    Hello All
Does anybody have any experience of sleeves in lifter bores on a V8?
I'm running a solid roller cam in a 460 Ford. The oil pressure drops dramatically with a mechanical cam in a standard block.

Using Smiths Brothers oil-control pushrods and makeshift restrictors in the lifters brings the oil up to 40PSI idle/50PSI off-idle (hot).
That's perfectly OK for street driving, but I'd like to put a tunnel ram on it for more excitement = 6500+ RPM.

Machine shop fees for press fit sleeves is costly and I'm always skint so looking for a lo-buck solution. Has anybody ever had a go at this themselves or seen someone else have a go?

I've got the tools, but a bit worried about ruining a perfectly good block.

Sorry not going to be much help with your question, but where did you find a machine shop who’d bush them for you? I’m trying to find somewhere who’ll tackle a similar job on my Chrysler RB440.

Rob Loaring at ICE engines can re-bush lifter bores,
At a guess it won't be a cheap job though no matter who does it (correctly)
