Very noisy engine help please, video attached

Need some help guys please, Essex v6 been running perfectly. Suddenly from a cold start it starts making a clattering noise from everywhere. As soon as you touch the gas the noise goes. Everything new inside the engine a short while ago..... Just can't put my finger on the location or cause
Video link below of engine running, hopefully it will work!

Wow that sounds a bit rough, one thing that springs to mind is the front timing gear which i believe has nylon teeth which do go astray now and again.

    Yup, rough it is.
It's a steel timing gear so don't think it's that.

Usual issue on Essex is rocker arms coming undone as they only use a single stiff nut fixing. Best to add another lock nut if they have come undone.

Use a long screwdriver as a stethoscope to tie down area whilst running.

Err, personally I would not run anything sounding like that. Get into it and find the issue before it comes out to see you.

Maybe I'm just sick in the head.

I think you are right to continue running it would be very bad, checked the rockers and they are good.
Just hoped someone had heard this racket before and could put me in the right direction

It's either very simple or with that noise it's fubared so will need a rebuild anyway

i've heard that noise before and it sounds like a rod bolt has come undone or broken. the cap will soon part from the rod which will then make it's way where it shouldn't, usually out through the sump or into the water jacket.
    hope i'm wrong but.......
    neil.
