What 2wd box fits 300tdi engine???????

Poss looking to fit 300tdi engine (and box) into my brothers chevy truck 56 ,Anyone done this or Know anyone who has???
Can you use the 4wd box ? but leave the front prop off,is there enough space under the floor.?
Is there a 2wd box that bolts on or to the bellhousing?
I m sure some one on here was fitting one to a truck with a Jag clip??A Blue one if I remember right
Was thinking leaving the front end stock ,need to look at the rear end ,would love to leave that also but if too much hassle and would change it also ....any thoughts
Come on RnS ,look forward reading your replies Cheers Andy

hi andy, i fitted a tdi disco engine into a 53/4 chevy truck (with jag clip). the owner (pegleg on here) wanted it auto so used the o/d disco box with a jag tailhousing instead of the transfer case. i've since been told the jag box (zf o/d type) fits with the disco convertor and bellhousing. manual would be disco or defender bellhousing, clutch and flywheel with sherpa/sd1 5 speed lt77 box. hope this makes sense, neil.

    What he said.
Think the guy doing my box, is using a Volvo tail housing.

Hi guys ,will check out peglegs posts, can tell you what boxes fit what engines with the good old Fords but sometimes have to ask with the British leyland stuff,so I have a 4wd ...R380 box and transfer box 5 speed ,early 200TDis came with LT77 and transfer boxes (and are interchangeable)......so therefore a 2wd LT77 from a Jag or a Rover ,Sherpa should do and bolt to the 300TDi bellhousing.
So far so good ,,,,,,,Thanks so far Andy
