    you can get a brand new bare block for just under £700 delivered to your door - I dont think thats overly expensive - once you bought a block of unknown quantity and price in getting it checked out, machined, cleaned, delivery etc. etc. it probably isnt that much more expensive.

    Well, I just tried the road craft site and they sell brand new 350 chevys:

    New Chevy 350 Bare Block Pre 86

    Once you add VAT and delivery, it's £874.74.

    And yes you can get .080" over sized everything, admittedly I was in the US when I bought the gaskets, but the guy had them on the shelf.
