what size 6 volt for a flathead

after all the previous events in previous threads:

i put my battery on charge for 24 hours took it out and installed it it turned the engine and ran.(still a little slow)

the battery is what is called a classic 511.

should this be man enough or would it be better with what is called
the 511/21 or 511/v8/21, obviously the latter makes sense
more plates and for a v8.

what do you have in yours if you are still running a 6 volt system.

I have a 6 volt system on my coupe, I'll have to check on the battery size and type at work tomorrow but yes, it cranks over real slow if it's been standing for a week or two, much to everyone's amusement but it always fires. If I've been using it as a daily it cranks slightly faster when cold. Always spins quickly when warm.

I've got a Heavy Duty 'Buick' battery in the Pontiac. Its the really long thin battery that runs along the inner wing.

I bought it from Lincon Batteries in Southend. They have all sorts of 6v batteries and can also make them to whatever sizze shape and spec you require.

If you are having problems give them a call. Very knowledgable and helpful guys.

They can also post the batteries to you if required.

    Dan

by the way, try not short out your battery, as this can happen
