    Is it standard practiice to put a sealer round the apperture before you put screen in,Its traditional rubber seal

    had my mini "old style " replaced buy a local body workshop and he recommended it as a lot of rust around the screen is due to leaking rubber seals better safe than sorry

    Absolutely.

    You put a big bead in the groove before fitting it to the glass, then install in car. Then pump a good bead under the rubber all around to seal it to bodywork.

    There is only one sealant that is worth using, it's called Arbomast.

    Clean off excess with a plastic scraper (so you dont damage paint) and wipe off with Panel wipe or white spirit.
