    Wiring dilema

    i am building a hot rod that i can drive every day so no V8 i have found a 118d 2007 bent but with good mechanicals . will i have a problem wiring lights as they wont be bmw ( will the ecu have a fit ) i intend to use most of the dash and aircon . i will also use the abs and traction control . Am i opening a can of worms . Regards Andy

    If you are planning on going through the BIVA test then ABS & traction control is forbidden.

    Can of worms is an understatement ! What you're proposing is a pretty mammoth task. even if it was "simply" transferring all wiring and components from original chassis into another.
    And I use the term simply very lightly, as even that wont be simple nevermind changing stuff or using different components at the same time

    Really...if you want a diesel or something like that, look to a much much older car
