    2.0 Cortina brakes.

    Hi All,

Stupid question time, would the standard 2.0 brakes be man enough to stop the Cortina with the SBC up front, I know there are lots of rods out there that are using Cortina front brakes, but obviously they are lighter than the Cortina, or would I be better off with a pair of 2.8i Capri calipers?

    Cheers,

    Stu.

If it were mine I'd forget the Capri Calipers as they offer no better stoping exept the vented disk would last longer due to heat disapation. I'd go for at least ploping some Sierra disks and sliding single piston calipers as they offer greater clamping ability. Look at whats offered from the Capri club and Capri sport as you know what fits a Cortina fits a Capri.
    Good luck.Martin.

Im fairly certain the Mk2 granada calliper [M18] will bolt on, using the Capri vent, this will give you a substantial increase in pad area over the standard M16 calliper

    Hi Gents,

Thank you very much, I only asked as I have the opportunity of getting a pair of front calipers for £40, just thought being the 2.8i they would be a good upgrade.

    Cheers,

    Stu.
