I get all my stuff straight from the States, finally learned UPS take the proverbial pee as well,
so now I get it sent USPS.
You have to make sure the box is within a certain size or it won´nt go but weight does´nt seem to be the issue.
Had some Brodix heads sent USPS.
The other way is air freight, got me some used doors, tyres, steel cowl hood, wheels.
I´ve often used Bauer Millett in the UK but the Euro/Pound is bad for me.

Yep, my experience too over many years, do it yourself. However for big heavy stuff, or large, bendable high dollar parts that are safer shipped container I haven't found a better or cheaper alternative than Russ at R+R imports. Don't dismiss some of the what you'd expect to be expensive couriers though. I had Summit ship a TH400 by DHL door to door in 3 days and even after tax + duty etc it was over £250 less than what Real Steel were selling the identical box.

I bought a B/M TH700R4 from Summit and it went bad on me so I phoned them to return it.
I sent it airfreight and they paid the cost, they also paid the freight for the replacement.
Summit are good, usually several ways to ship a part at fair prices.
Ever priced Jeg´s shipping, only FedEx and costly.

The problem ordering from Summit is that if you are buying quite a few parts I have learnt only to order items that are actually shown as being IN STOCK - otherwise you will get the option of having the items that are in stock sent out - and the outstanding items sent-on when they come in to the warehouse. This is obviously a more expensive way of doing things and the 'lead' times quoted are sometimes optimistic. What seriously ****ed me off when ordering about 12 different products a couple of months ago when checking availability (as I mentioned above) everything showed as being in stock - so I completed the order, paid for the mo-fo'in kit - to then get a confirmation showing one line was out of stock! :****er: - I posted off a seriously HD complaint - got an answer back fairly quickly explaining that when you check stock on line, the computer will check stock across their three warehouses. Overseas orders are only shipped from one of these three warehouses, hense why it may not have the item. Anyway they offered to send me an alternative part (long ARP valve cover bolts) so a happy ending. Would I recommend Summit for parts? yes I would! - they are generally very good if you remember the above. I remember ordering some kit from them on a Thursday evening - to have it turn up at my door Monday morning! - quicker than many UK based suppliers!

yep i not knocking uk parts people ,but they have i place in market for convenience ,but thought they would do better deals/and have better deals with US companys / as they are spending lots of dosh on a regular basis ,/then since the rise of the Ebayer it must make it harder for uk companys to make a buck ,so they stick a load more on to make it worth doing ,may be

Summit, yep, the "instock" is misleading so when I've sorted a wish list I phone them to quickly check what is really is in stock before placing the order.

I bring most of my stuff in from the states myself. I think you only come unstuck when you have to return stuff, the vendor usually foots the return shipping bill but you end up paying duties again on the replacement I know youre suppose to be able claim it back on the return item from HM customs, but I cant be arsed with all the paperwork/redtape, and just right the loss off.
