axle widths and 15" steel wheels help needed

hi i'm looking for a rear axle about 57" to 59" wide! i also want to fit it with 8x15" steels, what options have i got.
most uk fords are 108 pcd and i belive the only solid steel wheel in 15" is from the minx... but its gay skinny (but would do for the front but its the rear im thinking of here)
adpters are not available to convert 108pcd to us chevy or ford were there is a load of wheels that would do fine. so what options am i left with.... over to you guys and may thanks in advance

    ian

Cortina 3/4/5 but it will need to be a 4.1 axle , can be restudded to 5 stud Ford and then you can open up your options on width .Of course a nice pair of patina'd 8.5 4 stud Ford slots would solve the problem though to be honest I'm thinking about them for a makeover on the POS now.

Other option is Mk 2 Consul , Mk 3 Zephyr 4 ( normally 4.1 as stock) would give you a Ford 5 stud so saving some money , the Mk 3 is wider and stronger .

Also westminster 5 stud ,but expensice and low ratio not available and Cresta axles ,5 stud Chevy ..some are 5x5 and some 5 x 4.75 ,not sure on ratios on those though.

57 -59 is wiiiiiiide though stock A's only have a 54" track from memory .That would put you in standard English ford banjo axle territory though still needing restudding.

Mk2 Consul/Zephyr/Zodiac axle is only 55", I tried one for my A, the tyres wouldn't even go past the bodys edge.

I don't think a stock As axle is 54" Kev, I've got a PC Cresta axle [5on5 PCD] under mine which is 60 1/2" or there abouts, with this width the L78x15s fit a treat under the fenders.
How'd the weekend go? Well, at the moment it looks like a dolphin that's been caught in a boats propeller.

I may have confused you a tad Al, it's not for an A it's for a Pop chassis I just used the A as a 'datum' fot an idea of how wide it was compared to a Pop. I'm sure when I asked before the A track, not axle width ,was 54 ie centreline of the wheels as I remember thinking " only as wide as an Escort ?" at the time.

Talking of which an Escort axle with 8.5 slot mags ( "slot mags you say ?" ) fitted nicely under the other A pick up in the garage ( with about 2 inches inside to inside arch clearance )?

Sqweaka I got a MKII Consul axle doing nowt so if it's in any way suitable it's yours!

I'd replaced the brake ages ago and it's just sat there as I went 9".
It's been outside for a couple of years so no guarantees etc.
Can throw in a couple of 6x14s 5 spokes to roll it around on
The Chrome 5 spokes are pitted but I always fancied gloss blacking em).
Giving em away, so maybe a small donation to RnS.
I can pull the drums off to make sure it aint all rusted out etc.

    In Gateshead.

    cheers
    KJ
