if the door would be able to drop vertically and miss the rear of the truck, then all you need do is go on line to get a garage door company to fit a roller shutter. Not cheap, but way cheaper than modifying the truck

Extend the door frame outwards and refit, or extrernal roller shutter would be better and they should be able do it for you..............

The pre 64 c10 LWB"knee knockers" are very different to the SWB. Its not just the body that would require tweaking its the chassis, cross members prop (which is 2 piece on the lwb) and the rear arms.
If you just shorten the body from the tailgate back it would lose some of the proportions and lines.
Much better to alter the garage like the lads have said.
I have a 63 c10 fleetside and 68 stepside in full rebuild/restomod at the moment and know the trucks well, a 63 LWB was also in my shop for a year on the ramp so i did loads of comparisons and measurements. Between SWB and LWB.

If the truck fits in the garage and it’s just the door closing that’s the problem why not get a pair of side hinged doors fitted? A pair of wood ones fitted should only be about £700

Chevy mon 56 - You seem to have several options:
    - Increase your existing insurance premium to cover being parked outside.
    - Switch to an insurance company that doesn’t require garaging overnight.
( A-Plan allow me to keep my car on the drive, as I do not have a garage. )
    - Get a plumber to relocate the boiler and associated pipe work.
    - Get someone to change the doors and/or extend the brickwork ( E.g. https://www.wmgaragedoors.co.uk ).
( Note – No idea if they are any good, I just did a quick Google search. )

My guess is that any of the above will be cheaper/easier that shortening the pickup itself.

    Good luck, Paul.

I do however prefer the SWB fleetside, had lots of offers to buy LWB when looking for a C10 but held out until i got the SWB. Just my preference, you do have a very nice looking truck.

As someone else said, a roller door mounted on the external brickwork, rolling up into a boxed pelmet will not only give more room inside the garage, it will also give extra clearance on the door opening as the existing wooden frame will be removed.
