im looking at similar on my new build but instead of coils I intend to run torsion bars up the middle of the chassis so no visible springs, I know it wont give good wheel alignment as camber will change (like the rear of a beetle) but the car is being built for show not racing.

depends which of the pics you're looking at trev, if it's the ballamy style split i beam axle then yes. if it's the other where the 2 'beams' and coils just replace the transverse leaf then the i beam is unchanged, and therefore neither is the camber.
    neil.

Ya that is akin to the Bellamy style with the tansverse spring replaced with torsion bars so yours will be an IFS. Have you sorted out the torsion bars yet. Must say that looks very nice, looking forward to seeing pictures of yours Trev.

I know you say yours is not for racing but I read an article that Leslie Bellamy raced a Pop succesfully with his design of IFS.

yep, im using Chrysler torsion bars, were on a big block charger so hopefully with a lot less weight on them they should be ok. im also designing a friction type shock to act on the front end of the torsion bar so wont have any shocks on show. im doing similar with the scratch built rear end so it will look like it has no shocks or springs.
