    F150 Lightning problem

Took my father in law out for a spin in the lightning over christmas .
Done all the usual checked fluids etc, as its not been used for a few weeks it started up straight away , let it warm up and pootled off to the garage ,fueled her up and off we go down the duel carridgeway, after she was warmed up i see a large gap on the road ahead so i nailed it and not much happened, so backed off and did it again and nothing.
Its fine on tickover runs smooth and sweet even seems to be ok driven normally its just when you hit the gas hard there is what i can best describe as a judder/vibration coming from the engine, its not the type of vibration like there is something loose its like its only running on 5 cylinders or something, i have thought maybe not getting enough fuel, but is it possibly something to do with the blower not being very technically minded on all this modern stuff i dont know if when they play up do they just stop all together, the boost gauge is acting normal,
I tried all sorts and if you back off you seem to be able to almost drive through it and the top end speed seems to be unafected, its just seems to be on hard acceleration that the performance is well down on normal, a bit like if your timing was well out, it has sat outside in the frosts these last few weeks but is all antifreezed up.
Anybody got any ideas as i really could do without starting the new year having to take out a second mortgage to fix me truck
Cheers in advance for any advice with this
Happy new year too you all KEV

Sticking plugs in one of those is a complete PITA. Is the service light on? Mine does a weird thing when cold, it starts fine then almost dies for 30 seconds then its ok. It's never done this before in 5 years whatever the weather just te last few weeks. How much fuel was in the tank before you filled up? Have you not used it for a good while? Summer blend fuel in the tank on a very cold day?

Yea the 'book time' for fitting a set of plugs is nigh on 8hrs! (thats usually the reason they are needed!) Bry

    Is your CEL on?
As said, a good service may be on the cards.
Go to a garage you trust tho. it's quite common for the rearmost plugs to be ignored.
At least you've only got 8, I've got 16 of the buggers.
Takes me about 3-4 hours...I'm actually kneeling in the engine bay to do the rears...

    Thanks for all the input
8 hours to change the plugs holy crap and i bet they aint cheap either are they ???, as for the rest of the comments the fuel was fairly low but there was no light up on the dash (thats if they have one) not sure as I never normally let it get that low, and yes the sevice engine soon light is on, and was on the cards to book it in as soon as I got christmas out of the way I am pretty sure it has had a new coil pack fitted as I seem to recall the last owner mentioning it, I am fairly sure everybody is pointing me in the right direction as it dosen't seem to be a mechanical problem more electronic or fuel, I have not had it long but know the previose owner and history of the truck so hopefully its nothing that a good service won't sort out,
it all seems a bit wierd that tickover is sweet, revs great when stationary, just crap when under load.
Thanks again for all your help with this looks like thats this years xmas bonus out the window ..............Is there any volunteers too tell Mish (the wife)

    It's a pick up....traction control.....
ABS and airbags is as good as it gets.
Yella, are you sure that your 'service engine soon' light is not a 'check engine' light which tells you there is a fault?
