No idea about the numbers but that looks like that was a " Submarine Engine " .

I have since found out its a 351 Windsor , I bought it as seized but with a bit of WD40 on the valves and down the bores it turned over, going to strip and rebuild anyway so not bothered if it needs re bore

I need a set of valve covers / distributor and 4 barrel inlet if anybody has anything lying around they want to sell

before you spend too much check the water jacket integrity. if it's had salt water through it more than a couple of times (it looks like it) and not thoroughly rinsed out the block can be very thin, sometimes too thin to safely reuse or rebore. i'd strip it and get it hot tanked/de-rusted and checked first.
    neil.
need a job done on your project? i may be able to help.

I will check it over before getting too involved, close up its not as bad as it looks in the photo there is a little bit of scale in the thermostat housing but not too bad,
I was thinking of pulling out the core plugs and checking the jacket , thought if corrosion was bad it would rot the core plugs but along the same lines as you on the flushing ang checking

It doesn't stand me at a lot at the moment so wont be out of pocket if the block is scrap
